Flow Controllers
Flow Comparator
The Accumax Flow Comparator monitors two flow sensors at once - typically inlet against outlet - and alarms on the outlet-to-inlet recovery rate. A single compact, display-equipped unit therefore covers both measurement and control across two measuring points. It offers RS485 serial communication, external push-button provision and password-protected settings.
How it works
Two flow sensors (inlet and outlet) are wired to one unit. The comparator displays flow from both sensors and raises an alarm when the recovery rate — outlet flow as a percentage of inlet — crosses the set Flow Recovery percentage. The relay can be configured to trip above or below the setpoint. Settings are password protected and five operating modes are available; the source does not describe them.
Features
-
Two-sensor comparison
Monitors two flow sensors, inlet versus outlet, on one device.
-
Recovery-rate alarm
Alarms when the recovery rate crosses the set Flow Recovery percentage, trippable above or below the setpoint.
-
RS485 serial communication
Serial communication over RS485.
-
External push-button provision
Provision for an external push button.
-
Password-protected settings
Configuration is protected by password.
-
Five operating modes
Source states five selectable modes but does not name or describe them.
-
Combined controller and monitor
Described as providing complete flow controller / monitor functionality with an on-board display.

Frequently asked questions
What does a flow comparator actually do?
It monitors two flow sensors - typically inlet versus outlet - on one unit, displays flow from both, and alarms when the recovery rate crosses the set Flow Recovery percentage.
How many flow sensors can be connected to one unit?
Two, arranged as inlet versus outlet.
What communication interface does it provide?
RS485 serial communication.
Can operators be stopped from changing the recovery setpoint?
Yes, the settings are password protected.
