Flow Meters

Paddle Wheel Flow Meter

The Accumax Paddle Wheel Flow Meter measures volumetric total flow and flow rate from the rotation of a paddle wheel, whose revolutions are proportional to the flow. It is offered from 25 NB line size with a 4-20 mA output and RS485 Modbus communication, and supports six operating modes including totalizing, batching, flow comparison, rate switching, pulsing and a second independent totalizer.

  • Robust design

    Robust mechanical design.

  • Easy installation

    Easy to install.

  • Line size from 25 NB

Available from 25 NB line size.

  • 4-20 mA output

    Analog 4-20 mA output.

  • RS485 Modbus

    RS485 Modbus digital communication.

  • Six operating modes

Indicator & Totalizer, Batcher, Flow Comparator, Rate Switch Mode, Pulser and Dual Totalizer.

  • Batcher with halt and reject

Relay energizes on start and remains energized until a fixed quantity of liquid passes the sensor; halt and reject batch functions are included.

  • Flow comparator mode

Two sensors on permeate and reject lines; displays both flow rates, calculates percentage recovery and alarms when recovery drops.

  • Rate switch mode

Relay energizes whenever actual flow falls below or rises above the set value, displaying LOW/HIGH FLOW RATE - suited to flow interlock and chemical dosing.

  • Pulser mode

Triggers a task on completion of a preset volume; configurable to any metering or dosing pump.

  • Dual totalizer

A second totalizer that can be used regardless of the totalizer 1 settings.

These labels appear in the datasheet, but the value beside them could not be read reliably from the document. Rather than print a figure we cannot stand behind, we have left them out — ask us and we will confirm them directly.

  • Flow Range in m3/H - Min Flow per pipe size — the table has 6 pipe-size columns (25, 40, 50, 65, 80, 100 NB) but only 4 Min Flow cells survived the text layer (0.25, 0.5, 3.5, 14). Which columns the 4 values belong to cannot be determined, so no Min Flow figures are published.
  • Flow Range in m3/H - Max Flow per pipe size — 6 pipe-size columns but only 5 Max Flow cells survived (19, 35, 50, 90, 140). Column mapping is unrecoverable, so no Max Flow figures are published.
  • Protection / ingress rating — the brochure page 1 embeds an image whose filename is 'IP67-icon-2.png', but no IP rating text exists anywhere in the text layer, so no IP value is recorded.

Applications

  • Volumetric total flow and flow rate measurement
  • Batching
  • Flow comparison and RO percentage recovery monitoring
  • Flow interlock and chemical dosing
  • Dosing pump control via pulse output
  • Independent secondary totalizing

Frequently asked questions

What is the smallest line size available?

The meter is available from 25 NB line size.

What outputs does the paddle wheel flow meter provide?

A 4-20 mA analog output and RS485 Modbus digital communication.

How many operating modes does it have, and what are they?

Six: Indicator & Totalizer, Batcher (with halt and reject batch), Flow Comparator (two sensors, percentage recovery with low-recovery alarm), Rate Switch Mode (relay on low/high flow), Pulser (triggers on a preset volume) and Dual Totalizer (a second totalizer independent of totalizer 1).

Can it drive a dosing pump?

Yes. In Pulser mode the meter operates a specific task on completion of a preset volume and can be configured to any metering or dosing pump.

Can I totalize two different quantities at once?

Yes. The Dual Totalizer is a second totalizer that can be used regardless of the totalizer 1 settings.
